Burlington is not known as a rock and roll town: that reputation is designated to it's neighbour city, Hamilton. In Burlington, everyone is very successful and very secretive. Like all good communities with a sense of propriety, in Burlington you "don't shit in your own backyard". That's why they prefer to see their rock and roll in Hamilton. As for dogs, we shit where we please. The club is a good performance space with a well-intentioned club owner but a few draw-backs. The sound system is shot. A horrible mess that needs serious repair. The audience is a mix of serious Nash fans with a dash of local goofs. The serious bunch are all collecting together, finding out who are the diehards and who are the morons. The room has a strange vibe. There is great potential for this club if the new owner would listen to creative ideas. Get rid of the monstrous DJ booth and build a real stage across the entire back wall. Get an electrician to put in proper power and get new speakers. Not a huge investment if you want good live talent. Nash believes in the idea "Build it and they will come." Some clubs spend a lot of money on decorations on the walls, when what they really need is an investment in their live presentations. Many clubs have sound and lights that sit idle or get damaged because the owners don't have the motivation to make the stage better for live performing. This room has great potential with the right desire. Digger |
