We're off on a seven day adventure into eastern Ontario and the great unknown, Montreal, Quebec. On the way we pick up Ron in Trenton to help out. The Toucan in Kingston is one very cool place. Nash loves the stage. It takes up the entire rear wall and the audiences attention is very focused. This is the kind of performance space that adds a sense of theatre to the presentation. The room is small and intimate, and the show works best under those conditions. This gig always has a happy vibe about it, and Nash, Ron and I enjoy our ritual doob 'n dump down by the lakeshore. Kingston is a very old city by Canadian standards, and it was once the site of a great battle against the mighty Americans. Our side won. The performance goes smoothly and the fans get a good dose of Nash Thrash. I hang out with the crowd after the show. The folks are dog-friendly and mellow. Thanks to Ian and all the gang at The Toucan for making this club a special place to play. Let's hope the rest of the gigs this week are as relaxed as this one. Digger |
