As I told you in January, Nash's favorite club has gone from being a live rock room to being a fancy restaurant. Nash still likes to perform at Stratengers, and he gives it his best shot.

The set-up takes two days because the club no longer has a stage or a house PA system. The PA is brought in Friday night and the stage equipment is set up and tested so it doesn't bother the dining crowd on Saturday night.

On Friday night I hang out with my pal Diesel while Nash and Alex do the set-up at the club. I stay at Diesel's place on Saturday night as well.

Stratengers has changed a lot and I'm not welcomed. In the past I wasn't welcomed either (health laws you know) but back then there were places I could lay undetected, like a good ninja-dog. In the darker environment I could be quiet and discreet. Today, there's nowhere to hide.

Diesel is having a barbecue tonight and he invited all his other canine pals to attend. I ask Diesel,"Where did all these humans come from?" He says they crashed his party.

The Lost World Nash tells me all went well except for the hockey game. Nash is a big Leafs fan. Before the evening's performance, the playoff game is up on the big screen. Seeing as the Leafs lost the game to New Jersey tonight, Nash dedicates the evening to the Leafs with a performance of the silent film classic The Lost World.

The Leafs lose the semi-finals two days later.

The second set is a presentation of Bombardiers, a musical exploration of the surrealist paintings of Robert Vanderhorst. There are no vocals tonight, and the receptive audience gets a dose of Cabaret Nash.

The Art Show: on the floor, in your face and totally psychedelic.

There were fans from New York as well as some new fans from the area who just happened to be on magic mushrooms and decided to take in the show.

Attention Deficit Disorder anyone?

Nash picks me up at Diesel's at two in the morning. We canines are still partying but the humans have all gone home or to bed.

C'mon Nash, one last milkbone for the road! I know I'm gonna feel like a bloated carcass in the morning but I don't care! After kisses all 'round with my friends, Nash drags me home and tells me all about the evening's proceedings.

It's an interesting tale, but I'm still not allowed to return to my favorite rock club.

As with the last presentation at Stratengers, Nash proves once again that he can do the show anywhere. Stratengers is no longer a rock room, but Nash can work his magic anywhere.
