The Dungeon
Oshawa, Ontario
Friday, November 10, 2000

The expectation for this gig is very high. Nash hasn't been to Oshawa in a number of years but there was always a good turn-out before.

Oshawa is the home of General Motors Canada, and as such is a blue-collar rock and roll kinda town. The Dungeon is popular with the younger crowd but will the older Nash fans know where to find him? We'll soon see.

The owners Jim and Isobel are very nice folks and take an immediate liking to me. Nash and Alex work out all the stage arrangements with Rob the house sound tech.

All is going smoothly, but as we relax and wait for the public to arrive, nothing happens. Even with a delayed showtime, the audience is very sparse.

Nash isn't too happy but the show must go on. Two sets later, it's all over and there is great contemplation as to what went wrong with the promotion.

Nash and Jim are still friends but it's a depressing situation. It would be nice if Oshawa could become part of the gig circuit.

Jim wants to try an all-ages show next time so we can only hope that Oshawa just didn't hear about this one. Too bad.
