What better city to perform in before going off to an avant-garde music festival in Russia?

Raven is the kind of venue that serves the music community well, with a very diverse collection of eclectic music.

This is Nash's third appearance at Raven and this club has become one of his favourites. It s because of the great promo and reception we get from Duane the owner, Brody the booker, Lloyd the house manager and technician, and our good friend Lou who does the local college radio scene as well as promotes the hell out of the show.

As Nash, Alex and Cathie prepare to hit the road, I decide to stay home with my doggie pals, Marlie and Maggie. After the humans leave, another one drops by to feed us and let us out. When the dogsitter goes home, we're ready to party. We turn on the stereo real loud and play our Snoop Doogie Doo CDs. Marlie even knows all the dance moves.

When the gang gets back from the gig, we turn everything off and pretend we've been sleeping.

Nash then tells us what a great time we missed! The opening act was Battleship Ethel, a local trio that specialize in psychedelic instrumental jams. They have a very different approach to music than Nash, and they pull it off well, although some older Nash fans were wishing they'd leave the stage.

Nash does a 90 minute set, starting with Un Chien Andalou followed by a set of Thrash. The encore of Baba O'Riley was once again the show stopper.

There were a lot of familiar faces at this gig and it was a great time for one and all.

Thanks to everyone in Hamilton who love and support live music.
