Nash has begun working on a big recording project for 2003, and as such has decided to perform only in Toronto for the next while. There will be the odd gig out of town, but mostly Nash will stay close to home.

Nash has created a monthly event at The Vatikan, with the intent of showcasing live electronic music. There are ambient nights in other clubs, as well as experimental evenings such as Wavelength at Sneaky Dee's, but Nash wants to bring together more elements of the whole electronic music genre, including Electro-Pop, Goth and Krautrock. If you don't know what Krautrock is, do a Google. As with Nash's own music, the artists he wants to showcase must have an edge, there needs to be style.

This first event was scheduled only a few weeks ago so not much promo was put into the local media. The turn-out is small but very receptive.

Nash begins the evening by going out on stage in full regalia to introduce the opening act. He welcomes the audience and explains the concept. The last Wednesday of every month will be Warp-Drive Wednesday, dedicated to electronic cowboys and space cadets everywhere.

The opening act tonight is Software, 3 artists with a unique live presentation. Plexus who plays synths, has performed before with Nash in a show they called 'Psychedelitron'.

Tonight, Plexus is joined by Paul Asselin on guitar and Toasty-Bird doing the real-time computer images that are then projected onto the entire stage. The very melodic and tasty fuzz guitar style of Paul fits perfectly with the layered sequencers of Plexus. The analog synths give Software that 70's Krautrock sound and Klaus Schultze would be proud.

For their last piece, Software is joined by Nash on stage and they jam for the final 7 minutes.

When they finish, Nash remains on stage. He thanks Software for their great set of space music and proceeds to attack a solo set of Thrash.

The audience always gets a kick out of Britney Speers on the screen, dancing away oblivious to the sounds of 'Swing-Shift' roaring out of the speakers.

'Dead Man's Curve' is the finale as the evening ends in a flail of drum machine, synths and Mandoblaster.

The show ends at midnight, a reasonable hour for a Wednesday night. As Alex packs up the stage, Nash relaxes with his cohorts Ratch, Corpusse, Johnny and Lance.

Next month, Corpusse will be the opening act and anything can happen. I once attacked him in the dressing room because he freaked me out.

Nash and Alex hang around until closing time. I'm at Alex's house getting beat up by my pal Diesel but I'm always glad to hear the stories about the gigs. The only reason I can't go to The Vatikan is because there's another dog there who is a male and very protective.

Maybe I should bring along Diesel?
